Antique Chopin Music Score Wood & Metal Block Printing Plate 11 x 7.5 Inch
Antique Chopin Music Score on Wood & Metal Block Printing Plate measuring approximately 11H” x 7.5W” x 7/8T Inch. This beautiful piece of music history was used to print sheet music at the St. Louis Institute of Music (1924 – 1974). These types of printing blocks were used up until the early 1900’s when other more modern and economical methods came into use. This printing plate dates to the late 1800’s and is made from a wood backing with an aluminum or zinc plate. My husbands parents acquired it approximately 50 to 60 years ago and it was already at least 50 to 75 years old by the time they got it. A great piece for any lover of music and music history to hang on a wall or display on a shelf. Chopin (1810 – 1849) sheet music page for “Polonaise” plate #726. My father and my husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their new and future brides upon their return from Europe after WWII. Many of the items have gone to family, but there are still many items that need a home, and they are listed here. There are also other items, long held family treasures that also need to find new homes, as we have no room in ours for them. Many of them have been passed on from generation to generation over 100’s of years. We hope they find a home with you. I bought many gemstones, carvings, minerals, gold, and other fine items while in the jewelry industry. Please look at my other loose carvings and gems for yourself or as a gift for design or collection.
