Antique Chopin Music Score on Wood & Metal Block Printing Plate measuring approximately 11H” x 7.5W” x 7/8T Inch. This beautiful piece of music history was used to print sheet music at the St. Louis Institute of Music (1924 – 1974). These types of printing blocks were used up until the early 1900’s when other more modern and economical methods came into use. This printing plate dates to the late 1800’s and is made from a wood backing with an aluminum or zinc plate. My husbands parents acquired it approximately 50 to 60 years ago and it was already at least 50 to 75 years old by the time they got it.
