1 Letterpress Printing Press. A small, and quite cute, Adana HS1 (High Speed 1) printing press in good condition for its age. It is one of the rarer Adana letterpresses. It hasnt been used for a while and after I lubricated the main pivots it runs smoothly. It might benefit from some penetrating oil on some screw threads that dont form part of the main mechanism, but generally it is a very good and interesting machine. The ink-plate is in good condition with no corrosion. You will note that it DOES come with original rollers and they are actually in good, useable, condition. There is slight oxidisation to the platten, but obviously it is supposed to be used with a piece of thick paper, such as blotting paper, in front of it (and the gripper frame is present). Clearly, this will have limitations with regard to the maximum printing size, but it is a capable machine and spare parts are still available for it. The printer does need to be bolted to a board or a bench: fixing bolts are not supplied. I show it next to a larger Adana 5-3 and a can of tomatoes to give a sense of scale but please note that the larger machine is not included, and neither are the tomatoes!
